International Customs & Import Fees

At Maison Maxine, all orders are shipped directly from the UK. As such, your order may be subject to customs fees upon reaching the destination country. Here’s what you need to know about international customs and import duties:

Customs Fees and Import Duties

As the customer, you are responsible for all import duties, customs fees, and local sales taxes required by your country. Payment of these fees is necessary to release your order from customs. Please note:

  • The grand total displayed at checkout does not include additional customs duties.

  • The carrier will inform you of any additional duties if required.

  • Customs fees and import taxes vary widely depending on your location. Unfortunately, Maison Maxine has no control over these fees and cannot provide exact estimates.

Country-Specific Information

United States

  • The threshold for bringing goods into the US from the UK is $800 USD. Orders valued above this amount will incur import fees.

Canada

  • The threshold for bringing goods into Canada from the UK is $20 CAD. Orders valued above this amount will incur import fees.

European Union (EU)

  • For orders made from an EU Member Country, there are no import taxes or duties for orders under €150. Maison Maxine is an IOSS registered corporation, meaning taxes for orders under this amount are paid on your behalf.

  • For orders over €150, customs duties and taxes will be calculated at checkout. No additional costs will be due upon delivery.*

    • *Exception: Due to updated customs requirements for Germany, duties and taxes for orders over €150 will be charged at the point of delivery, not at checkout.

Australia

  • The threshold for bringing goods into Australia from the UK is $1,000 AUD. Orders valued above this amount will incur import fees.

All Other Regions

  • For all other regions, customs charges may be issued by your local customs authority. You will be responsible for the payment of any fees, should they apply.

Refusing to Pay Customs Fees

If you choose to refuse the customs fee and the parcel is returned to Maison Maxine, a shipping and handling fee may be deducted from your refund.
